Come to Trivandrum city and you will find a number of hoardings announcing pongala in connection with festivals of various Devi temples in the city. Attukal temple is surrounded by Devi temples at Konchiravila, Pazhanchira, Kuriathi (Mutharamman Kovil). The Mukkolakkal Devi temple is also another attraction but is quite away from Attukal. Pongala is one of the main offerings to goddess Bhadrakali and it is one main attractions of the festivals in Devi temples.
